# How to Change Vultr Account Password

Changing your account password helps you protect your Vultr account and reduce the risks of cyber attacks when responding to a security breach due to a lost device. Changing passwords also mitigates account misuse by former employees and discourages password reuse.

Follow this guide to change account password using the Vultr Console.

1. Navigate to **Account** and select **Authentication** under **General**.
1. Enter your old password and the new password under **Change Password**. Then, click **Change Password**.
1. Use your new password to log in to your Vultr account next time.
