Guide to recovering the root password for a Vultr Compute Instance through the Vultr Console
If you’ve lost access to the root password of your Vultr Compute Instance, you can retrieve it from the instance overview page in the Vultr Console.
However, if you’ve already changed the root password and forgotten it again—or if the password listed in the Vultr Console no longer works—you can reset it by booting into single-user mode using the SystemRescue ISO. Refer to this guide, to reset the root password of your instance.
