How Is Vultr Archival Object Storage Billed?

Updated on 01 April, 2026

Understand Vultr archival object storage pricing, including costs for archived, restored data, and bandwidth usage.

Vultr Archival Object Storage billing depends on the mode of consumption and where your objects reside at any given time. There are two billable states: objects stored in the Archival tier and objects temporarily restored to your bucket.

Archival Object Storage Subscription

A dedicated Archive subscription is billed at a base price of $6/month, which includes 1000 GB of archival storage, 1 TB of bandwidth, and 100 GB of unarchived storage at no cost. Usage beyond the included amounts is billed as follows:

  • Archival storage: $0.006/GB-month
  • Unarchived retention: $0.018/GB-month
  • Bandwidth: $10/TB

Standard Object Storage Subscription with Archival Storage Enabled

A Standard subscription retains its base price of $18/month with 1000 GB of included storage and 1 TB of included bandwidth. Enabling Archival Storage on a bucket adds the following charges with no included archival capacity:

  • Archival storage: $0.006/GB-month
  • Unarchived retention: $0.018/GB-month
  • Bandwidth: $10/TB

You can view your Archival and Unarchived storage usage directly in the Vultr console under your Object Storage subscription's usage section.

Note
When Archival Storage is enabled on a bucket, it is billed for a minimum of 1 GB of archival storage, regardless of actual object size.
