How to Deploy an Application on a Vultr Kubernetes Engine Cluster

Install AMD GPU Operator, Cert-Manager, Longhorn, Rook Ceph, and other preconfigured apps on a Vultr VKE cluster.

Vultr Kubernetes Engine (VKE) provides a catalog of preconfigured applications that you can deploy to a cluster from the Vultr Console, such as ArgoCD, Cert-Manager, Cert-Manager Vultr Webhook, CoreDNS, Exascaler CSI, Headlamp, kube-state-metrics, Longhorn, Rook Ceph, AMD GPU-Operator, and NVIDIA GPU Operator. These applications extend cluster functionality with features such as continuous delivery, certificate management, storage integration, GPU acceleration, and monitoring. You can deploy each application with its default settings or customize it with YAML values.

Follow this guide to deploy an application on a Vultr Kubernetes Engine cluster using the Vultr Console or Terraform. The Terraform tab deploys your own Kubernetes workloads, because Terraform does not install catalog applications.

Navigate to Compute and click Kubernetes.
Click the target cluster to open its management page.
Click the Applications tab.
Click Deploy Application.
In the Choose Application dialog, select an application, such as ArgoCD, Cert-Manager, or kube-state-metrics. Each application tile shows the version that VKE deploys.
Click the Deployment Timeout drop-down and select how long VKE waits for the deployment to finish, such as 60 minutes.
Optionally, enter custom YAML values in the Advanced Configuration field. Leave the field blank to use the application's default settings.
Click Deploy Now to deploy the application.
Click the Applications tab and verify that the application appears in the list with its Version and an Installing status.
