Updates cloud-init user data for an existing Vultr instance to modify its configuration post-deployment.

Sets or updates the user data (custom initialization scripts or configuration data) for a specified Vultr cloud instance, which is typically executed during server provisioning or startup.

Usage

CONSOLE

$ vultr-cli instance user-data set <Instance ID> [flags]

Examples

CONSOLE
# Full example
$ vultr-cli instance user-data set <instanceID> --text='!#/bin/sh echo "hello, world!"'

Or with a file instead:

$ vultr-cli instance user-data set <instanceID> --file="/home/me/user_data.txt"
