Can I Convert An Automatic Backup To A Vultr Snapshot?

Yes. You can convert Vultr Automatic Backup images into Snapshots. This feature is useful if you want to preserve a backup beyond its standard retention period or restore it to a different instance. Snapshots created from backups are user-managed and will not be automatically deleted during Vultr’s backup rotation.

To convert an Automatic Backup into a Snapshot:

1. Navigate to Products → Orchestration → Backups in the Vultr Customer Portal.
2. Locate the backup you want to preserve.
3. Click the camera icon to create a Snapshot from that backup.

Alternatively, backups are also accessible via the respective instance’s management page, where you can directly convert them into snapshots.
