What Are the Minimum Requirements for Deploying a Vultr Kubernetes Engine Cluster?

Updated on 20 November, 2025

Outlines the essential hardware and configuration requirements for successfully deploying a Vultr Kubernetes Engine (VKE) cluster

To deploy a Vultr Kubernetes Engine (VKE) cluster, the following minimum requirements must be met:

  • Node Pool: At least one Node Pool with a minimum of one worker node.
  • Worker Node Resources: Each worker node must have at least 2 GB of RAM.
  • Network Setup: Basic networking must be available in the selected deployment location.
  • Kubernetes Version: A supported Kubernetes version must be selected during cluster creation.

Meeting these requirements ensures that the cluster can run workloads reliably while providing the necessary compute and memory resources for the Kubernetes control plane and worker nodes.
