How to Delete Vultr Emergency Backup Codes for Two-factor Authentication

Updated on 24 April, 2025

Deleting the two-factor authentication (2FA) backup codes will disable the emergency codes generated in your account when you enabled 2FA. These codes help you regain access to your Vultr account if you lose access to your 2FA device. Ensure you have a backup login method before deleting the 2FA backup code entry.

Follow this guide to delete emergency backup codes for 2FA using the Vultr Customer Portal.

  1. Navigate to Account and select Authentication under General.

  2. Click Manage Two Factor Authentication.

  3. Remove the emergency backup codes entry by clicking the delete icon and entering the emergency code in the confirmation prompt.
