How to Delete Vultr Emergency Backup Codes for Two-factor Authentication

Deleting two-factor authentication (2FA) backup codes disables the emergency codes generated in your account when you enabled 2FA. These codes help you to gain access to your Vultr account if you lose access to the 2FA device. Ensure you've a backup log in method before deleting the 2FA backup code entry.

Follow this guide to delete emergency backup codes for 2FA using the Vultr Customer Portal.

  1. Navigate to Account and select Authentication under General.

  2. Click Manage Two Factor Authentication.

  3. Remove the emergency backup codes entry by clicking the delete icon.
