Enable IPv6 on a Vultr Cloud Compute instance, which has no public address by default, and set reverse DNS.
Vultr assigns a public IPv6 address to a Vultr Cloud Compute instance only when you enable IPv6 during instance configuration. After you enable IPv6, you can manage the instance's IPv6 network settings and configure reverse DNS for specific networking tasks.
Follow this guide to add IPv6 addresses to a Vultr Cloud Compute instance using the Vultr Console, API, CLI, or Terraform.
Navigate to Compute and click Instances.
Click your target Vultr Cloud Compute instance to open its management page.
Navigate to the Settings tab.
Click IPv6 on the left navigation menu.
Click Assign IPv6 Network to assign a new subnet to the instance.
Click Assign IPv6 Network Address in the confirmation prompt to assign the IPv6 network and reboot the instance.
Find the Reverse DNS section, enter your IPv6 address in the IP field, and enter a domain in the Reverse DNS field.
Click Add to enable reverse DNS on the IPv6 address.
