How to Create Snapshots of a Vultr Cloud GPU Instance

Save a point-in-time copy of a Vultr Cloud GPU instance's file system and disk to restore after failure or data loss.

A snapshot is a point-in-time copy of the instance state that includes the file system and disk contents. Snapshots provide a backup method that you can use to restore data.

Follow this guide to create snapshots of a Vultr Cloud GPU instance using the Vultr Console, API, or CLI.

Navigate to Compute and click Instances.
Click your target Cloud GPU instance to open its management page.
Navigate to the Snapshots tab.
Enter a new descriptive label in the Label field and click Take Snapshot to take a new snapshot of your instance. Snapshot creation can take up to 30 minutes, depending on the instance size.
