Overview of the Vultr MCP Server, which gives MCP clients and AI assistants read-only access to Vultr infrastructure, with links to setup, tools, and safety.
The Vultr Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server lets you interact with your Vultr cloud infrastructure in plain language, either directly or through an AI assistant. Connect Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, or any other MCP client to your Vultr account, and ask about your infrastructure, for example which instances are running in a region, what you spent last month, or whether a Kubernetes cluster has an upgrade available.
The Vultr MCP Server is available in public preview. The tool surface and endpoint structure may change at general availability, so forward compatibility is not guaranteed.
The MCP server is read-only. It can view your account's resources but cannot create, modify, or delete anything, and it has no tools that spend money.
The source code and the most current documentation for the Vultr MCP Server are in the Vultr MCP Server repository on GitHub.
Vultr hosts the MCP server, so there is nothing to install. Add the following URL to your MCP client: https://mcp.vultr.com/mcp
Your client opens a browser window to log in to Vultr, and the tools are ready after you approve access. For more information, see How to Get Started with the Vultr MCP Server.
Start with the question What Vultr account am I connected as? to verify which organization you are logged in to. Then ask questions in plain language. The following examples show the format:
For more information, see Example Prompts.
The Vultr MCP Server repository on GitHub contains additional documentation that may be updated more frequently than this section.
