Review the Vultr MCP Server endpoints, how each product area serves its own tools, and how to connect a client to one endpoint or to several endpoints at once.
The Vultr Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server provides read-only tools for your Vultr infrastructure. The URL https://mcp.vultr.com/mcp serves every tool that the server exposes. Each product area also has its own endpoint that serves only the tools for that area.
The Vultr MCP Server is in public preview. The tool surface and endpoint structure may change at general availability, so forward compatibility is not guaranteed.
Connecting to a narrower endpoint instead of the full list can give better results in practice, for two reasons:
Choose the endpoint that matches what you are working on, or connect to the full list if your work spans several product areas.
Add the endpoint name to the end of https://mcp.vultr.com/mcp. For example, the compute endpoint is https://mcp.vultr.com/mcp/compute. The following endpoints are available:
/mcp/compute: Cloud Compute instances, Bare Metal servers, snapshots, backups, startup scripts, instance templates, and Compute Clusters/mcp/network: DNS, firewalls, load balancers, VPCs, NAT gateways, reserved IP addresses, CDN, and legacy private networks/mcp/databases: Managed Database clusters, users, connection pools, topics, connectors, maintenance, and alerts/mcp/account: account details, billing and invoices, activity logs, SSH keys, sub-accounts, and support tickets/mcp/catalog: plans, regions, operating systems, ISOs, One-Click Apps, and the Marketplace/mcp/storage: Block Storage, Object Storage, and Vultr File System/mcp/registry: container registries, repositories, artifacts, robots, retention rules, and replication/mcp/kubernetes: Vultr Kubernetes Engine (VKE) clusters, node pools, versions, and upgrades/mcp/inference: Serverless Inference subscriptions and usageFor the list of tools that each endpoint serves, see the Vultr MCP Server repository on GitHub. Each endpoint serves the tools that share its name. For example, /mcp/compute serves the vultr_compute_* tools. The compute and Kubernetes endpoints are separate, so VKE clusters and Compute Clusters are served on different endpoints. The catalog endpoint includes the Marketplace.
You can add as many endpoints as you need, each as its own entry in your client. The URL https://mcp.vultr.com/ works the same as https://mcp.vultr.com/mcp. For more information, see Client Setup.
Every tool reads information and none of them changes anything in your account. A tool called with an argument that it does not have is refused, with a list of the arguments that it takes. For more information, see Safety.
