How Are Files Distributed Across the CDN in a Push Zone?

Updated on 20 November, 2025

Files in Vultr CDN Push Zones are stored in distributed storage and replicated across global POPs for efficient content delivery.

In a Vultr CDN Push Zone, uploaded files are stored in the CDN's distributed storage and replicated across Vultr's global network of Points of Presence (POPs). Each POP maintains a local cache of the uploaded files, enabling requests to be served from the edge location closest to the end user.

This architecture ensures low-latency content delivery, reduces load on the origin server (as Push Zones do not fetch content on demand), and provides consistent performance for large static assets such as images, videos, and software packages. The replication and caching mechanisms of the Push Zone guarantee that content is available at multiple edge locations simultaneously, optimizing availability and delivery speed across all supported regions.
