Explains whether you can manage DNS records in Vultr without changing your domains nameservers to Vultr's DNS servers
DNS management requires that the authoritative nameservers for a domain point to the service that will handle its DNS records. When using Vultr DNS, all DNS queries for your domain must be directed to Vultr’s nameservers to allow full control over A, CNAME, MX, TXT, and other records. Without updating the domain’s nameservers to Vultr, changes made within the Vultr DNS interface will not propagate or affect how the domain resolves.
To use Vultr DNS, you must update your domain’s nameservers to:
ns1.vultr.comns2.vultr.comOnce the nameservers are updated and fully propagated, you can manage your domain’s DNS records directly from the Vultr interface. Without this step, it is not possible to manage the domain through Vultr DNS.
For more information on why to use Vultr DNS and how to update nameservers at your preferred registrar, see the Vultr DNS official documentation.
