How to Delete a Vultr Kubernetes Engine Cluster

Permanently delete a Vultr Kubernetes Engine cluster with its control plane, worker nodes, and linked resources.

Deleting a Vultr Kubernetes Engine (VKE) cluster permanently removes the control plane, all node pools and worker nodes, and the workloads that run on them. Deleting the cluster also stops further charges. You can also delete the Block Storage volumes and Load Balancers that the cluster created, which appear on the cluster's Linked Resources tab. You cannot recover a deleted cluster, so back up any data you need before you delete it.

Follow this guide to delete a Vultr Kubernetes Engine cluster using the Vultr Console, API, CLI, or Terraform.

Navigate to Compute and click Kubernetes.
Click the target cluster to open its management page.
Click the Delete icon next to Download Configuration.
In the Are you sure you want to destroy this VKE Cluster? dialog, review the linked resources message, such as This cluster does not have any linked resources., and select the Destroy VKE Cluster option.
Click Destroy VKE Cluster to delete the cluster.
