Vultr supports granular user permission management, allowing account owners to delegate specific responsibilities without sharing root credentials. When adding users to your account, you can assign tailored access levels based on your team's operational needs.
You can enable or disable the following permissions for each user:
- Manage Users: Grants full administrative control over the account. This is a super-user role equivalent to root access. It overrides all other permission settings and should be assigned with caution.
- Manage Servers: Allows users to view, start, stop, restart, and destroy existing instances.
- View Servers: Grants read-only access to all server instances.
- Deploy New Servers: Allows users to provision new Cloud Compute, Optimized Cloud Compute, Bare Metal, or Cloud GPU instances.
- Upgrade Existing Servers: Lets users upgrade resources such as CPU, RAM, or disk on existing servers.
- Manage Billing: Enables access to view and pay invoices, update payment methods, and manage billing settings.
- Create Support Tickets: Allows users to open and reply to support tickets with Vultr Support staff.
- Manage DNS: Grants access to configure and manage DNS records within the account.
- Manage Firewall: Allows users to create and apply firewall groups to instances.
- Manage Object Storage: Enables control over Vultr Object Storage buckets and access keys.
- Manage Load Balancers: Grants users permission to deploy, modify, and delete Vultr Load Balancers.
- Manage Vultr Kubernetes Engines: Allows users to provision and manage VKE clusters.
- Receive AUP/ToS Notifications: Enables users to receive alerts related to abuse or terms of service violations.
- Receive Maintenance Notifications: Allows users to be notified about scheduled maintenance or infrastructure changes.
For fine-tuned access control, leave the Manage Users permission disabled and toggle the individual permissions as needed.
