Forwarding rules that define how incoming traffic on specific ports is directed to backend instance ports on Vultr Load Balancers.
Forwarding rules on a Vultr Load Balancer define how incoming traffic on a specific port is directed to ports on backend instances. You can configure rules for HTTP, HTTPS, or TCP protocols, enabling flexible routing of application traffic.
For example, a rule can forward HTTP traffic arriving on port 80
of the Load Balancer to port 8000
on backend instances. Each Load Balancer can have up to 15 forwarding rules, which enables multiple services to be exposed through a single Load Balancer.
Forwarding rules are applied at the edge of the Load Balancer, ensuring that traffic is correctly routed to the intended instance port while maintaining performance and reliability.
