Can I Belong to Multiple Organizations and Switch Between Them?

Updated on 13 April, 2026

Learn whether a user can belong to multiple Vultr organizations simultaneously and how to switch between them using the Vultr Console or API context.

Yes. A single Vultr user can belong to more than one organization simultaneously. This is common in scenarios where you have been invited as a member of multiple organizations, for example a colleague's or client's organization in addition to your own.

Each organization you belong to maintains its own completely independent set of users, roles, groups, permission policies, and billing context. Your membership and access level in one organization has no bearing on your membership or access level in another.

Switching Between Organizations

Once you have accepted an invitation to join an organization, it becomes available in the organization switcher in the Vultr Console. To switch, select the target organization from the switcher to change your active context.

Note
Switching is explicit, you must actively select the target organization. There is no automatic or implicit context switching.

When you switch organizations, the entire administrative scope of the Console changes to reflect the selected organization. Any actions you take (managing users, assigning policies, creating roles) apply only within the organization you are currently switched into.
