What Is a Child Account in the Context of Vultr Sub-Accounts?

Updated on 15 September, 2025

A Child Account is a fully-functional Vultr Sub-Account that operates independently while remaining linked to a Parent Account for consolidated billing purposes.

A Child Account is a Vultr Sub-Account that operates independently while being linked to a Parent Account for billing purposes. It has full access to Vultr services and can deploy and manage any type of infrastructure resource, including compute instances, block storage volumes, load balancers, and more.

While a Child Account manages its own users, API keys, and deployments, all usage charges are automatically rolled up and invoiced to the linked Parent Account. This structure allows organizations to isolate infrastructure and operations per account while maintaining centralized financial management.
