Vultr CDN enhances the performance and scalability of large-scale API infrastructures by optimizing how API traffic is handled across its global edge network. For APIs that serve high-throughput RESTful or GraphQL workloads, the CDN reduces latency by serving cached responses from edge nodes closest to end users whenever possible. This is particularly effective for endpoints that return repeatable data or content that can be safely cached for short periods.

In addition to caching, Vultr CDN provides origin shielding, which consolidates traffic to a single node or region before reaching the origin server. This reduces redundant requests and prevents the origin from being overwhelmed during traffic spikes.
