When Should I Use a Vultr CDN Push Zone Instead of a Pull Zone?

Updated on 20 November, 2025

Push Zones are ideal for delivering large static files over 100MB that rarely change, requiring manual uploads to the CDN.

A Vultr CDN Push Zone is best suited for delivering large static files, typically over 100 MB, that do not change frequently. Examples include software installers, video files, and game assets. In this model, you upload content directly to the CDN storage, which is then replicated and served from Vultr’s global edge locations.

Unlike a Pull Zone, which automatically retrieves content from your origin server on demand, a Push Zone does not rely on an origin server. This makes it ideal for scenarios where you want consistent, high-speed delivery of pre-uploaded content across multiple regions without generating repeated requests to your infrastructure.
