What Happens When a User Is Removed From an Organization?

Updated on 13 April, 2026

Understand the impact of removing a user from a Vultr organization. The user loses access to organizational resources but their platform account is not deleted.

When a user is removed from an organization, their access to all resources, roles, groups, and permission policies within that organization is immediately revoked. They can no longer interact with any resources or perform any actions within that organization.

Removing a user from an organization does not delete their Vultr account. The user's personal account, credentials, and any resources they own independently remain entirely intact. Only their membership and therefore their access within the target organization is terminated.

If the user is a member of multiple organizations, removal from one organization has no effect on their membership or access in any other organization.

Note
If a removed user needs to be re-added to the organization in the future, they must go through the invitation process again. Any roles, group memberships, and permission policy assignments they previously held within the organization will need to be reconfigured from scratch.
