Updated on 20 November, 2025

Vultr DNS supports DNSSEC, providing cryptographic signatures to protect domain records against spoofing and cache poisoning attacks.

Yes, Vultr DNS supports DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions), which lets you add cryptographic signatures to your domain’s DNS records to protect against spoofing and cache poisoning. Follow the steps below to enable DNSSEC in Vultr DNS:

  1. Log in to the Vultr Customer Panel.
  2. Expand the Network section and choose DNS from the left-hand menu.
  3. Select the domain you wish to configure.
  4. Navigate to Zone Settings and toggle DNSSEC Settings to ENABLED.
  5. After enabling DNSSEC, Vultr will provide the DS (Delegation Signer) records required by your domain registrar.
  6. Log in to your domain registrar’s control panel and add the DS records exactly as provided. This step is essential for DNSSEC validation.
  7. Confirm and save the changes at your registrar.
  8. Wait for DNS changes to propagate globally, which can take up to 24 - 48 hours.

After completing these steps, your domain will be protected with DNSSEC, helping ensure that DNS queries are securely validated.
