What Is Vultr's ASN?

Updated on 20 November, 2025

s unique Autonomous System Number (ASN) identifier used for BGP routing on the internet

An Autonomous System Number (ASN) uniquely identifies a network on the internet for the purpose of exchanging routing information using the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). Vultr’s public ASN is 20473, which is used for inter-domain routing and peering with other networks.

Instances deployed within Vultr’s network do not directly use the public ASN for outbound BGP sessions. Instead, each instance connects to a private ASN, 64515, assigned by Vultr for internal routing. This separation ensures proper routing, isolation, and scalability of Vultr’s infrastructure while maintaining global visibility of the public ASN for external peers and BGP sessions.
