Does Vultr VPC Support Vultr Network Gateway Services?

Updated on 20 November, 2025

Overview of Vultr VPC compatibility with Network Gateway Services for managing isolated network environments and traffic routing

A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is an isolated network environment within the cloud that provides control over IP addressing, routing, and security. In typical cloud deployments, VPCs manage internal traffic between instances, but external connectivity to public networks requires routing through a gateway.

Vultr VPC does not natively provide built-in network gateway services to public networks. To enable communication between a VPC and external networks, a dedicated network gateway instance must be created within the VPC. This gateway instance handles routing, NAT (Network Address Translation), and other gateway functions, enabling instances within the VPC to communicate with the public internet or other external networks while maintaining network isolation and security.
