Vultr's BGP session support enables advanced network routing with custom traffic path management and redundancy for enterprise-grade networking control.
Advanced network routing often requires fine-grained control over how traffic flows between networks. Vultr supports BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) sessions, allowing IP prefixes to be announced, traffic paths to be managed, and redundant connections to be established across regions.
With BGP, IP prefixes are advertised to Vultr’s network, ensuring proper routing and reachability. Routing policies can be configured to optimize latency, prevent congestion, or meet regulatory requirements. Multiple BGP sessions across different regions create redundant paths, maintaining connectivity even if one segment fails. Networks can also use their own Autonomous System (AS) numbers, allowing full control over interactions with external networks.
