What Types of Cloud Networking Services Are Available on Vultr?

Updated on 18 December, 2025

An overview of Vultr's cloud networking services that enable secure, scalable connectivity and network management within their infrastructure

Vultr offers a suite of cloud networking services designed to provide secure, scalable, and flexible connectivity within its cloud infrastructure. These services enable you to build isolated networks, manage traffic, and integrate with external systems efficiently.

  • BGP (Border Gateway Protocol): Enables dynamic routing between Vultr network and external networks, allowing for the advertisement of your IP prefixes and facilitating multi-homing scenarios. This feature supports both public and private ASNs.
  • DNS (Domain Name System): Provides DNS services to manage domain names and translate them into IP addresses, facilitating domain management and routing.
  • Direct Connect: Offers private, dedicated connectivity from your on-premises infrastructure to Vultr's network, enhancing performance and security compared to public internet connections.
  • Firewall: Allows you to define and manage inbound and outbound traffic rules for your instances, providing network-level security by controlling access based on IP addresses, ports, and protocols.
  • Reserved IPs: Provides static IP addresses that can be reserved and reassigned to different instances as needed, ensuring consistent addressing for critical services.
  • VPC (Virtual Private Cloud): Creates isolated, private networks within a region, enabling secure communication between instances without exposing traffic to the public internet. Subnets can be defined, and traffic between instances is routed internally.
  • Load Balancers – Distributes traffic across multiple instances within the same region to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance for applications. They integrate with VPCs and Firewall rules and can handle HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP traffic.

Together, these services enable the deployment of resilient, and high-performance network architectures on Vultr’s cloud infrastructure.
