Why Can’t I Pay With My PayPal?

Explains why PayPal payments may fail on Vultr and outlines the requirement for a valid backup funding source to complete transactions.


To complete payments with PayPal on Vultr, your PayPal account must have a valid backup funding source, either a linked credit card or verified bank account. This is required to activate billing agreements with vultr.com.

If your PayPal transaction fails or the payment method is unavailable, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your PayPal account.
  • Navigate to your Wallet and ensure you have a linked and verified backup funding source.
  • Confirm that your PayPal account is in good standing and not subject to any restrictions or limitations.

Once your backup payment method is in place, return to the Vultr Customer Portal and retry the transaction. If issues persist, consider using an alternative supported payment method such as a credit card.
